Image processing for feeding technology
Image processing as the key to feeding technology
In-house image processing expertise is a key success factor in feeding technology. It enables components to be reliably detected, inspected and correctly prepared for downstream processes.
Mechanical and sensory orientation
The most cost-effective option for orienting a component is often the use of baffles. Where mechanical solutions reach their limits, camera sensors are used.
Location and orientation detection
Simple camera sensors detect the position and orientation of the components. Components with incorrect alignment can be specifically ejected using blown air pulses and fed in again. This ensures stable and continuous feeding.
Monitoring and quality assurance
The sensor technology used can be employed not only for orientation, but also for monitoring the components to be fed. Missing parts or deviations can be detected at an early stage.
Camera systems for robotics and Anyfeeder
Camera systems – including those with higher resolution – detect components using reflected or transmitted light, for example in the Anyfeeder. The position data captured enables robots to grip the components precisely and reproducibly.
